The Bright World of Metals has confirmed once more its leading role as the global metallurgy and metalcasting networking platform after five very active working days.

The presence of the World Foundry Organization in Düsseldorf with an exhibition stand in this year’s event posed again an effective meeting point for the global foundry industry. This working space allowed the WFO team and the members of the Secretariat receiving there the international foundry associations’ representatives, as well as global metalcasting leaders, to meet, discuss and advance several action lines for the future.

Furthermore, the WFO stand counted with information of national technical events to be organized in the near future by a good number of WFO Member Associations, which allowed the GIFA attendees keeping themselves informed there about top-level technical activities to come.

The WFO maintained also a very active networking agenda in GIFA. In addition to the Secretariat and Executives meetings with global stakeholders, some international working groups held meetings in the Fair. In addition, other meetings were established to start up some of the new working group proposals that came out form the last WFO Executive in Atlanta this same year.

It is also worth highlighting the action made this year by the WFO to connect the young professionals with the industry. Thanks to an agreement with the German WFO member, Clausthal Technical University, a young student from their Department of Metallurgy had the opportunity to interact with the leaders of the industry in the WFO’s stand during part of the exhibition.

GIFA 2019 was also a success for the WFO in terms of the interest generated by the next World Foundry Summit to be celebrated in New York in May 2020. In addition to the requests received from several organizations and the people pre-registered to the event during the Fair, the total number of Sponsoring companies growth over seven, showcasing the interest of the industry for this global event. Read more...
